Why teaching?
In the Spring of 2019, I decided to take an education class for variety in my schedule. In the course, I learned about the Next Generation Science Standards. As someone who struggled to pay attention in school, I instantly knew that the NGSS would have been a much more engaging way to learn science. In later coursework, I learned about differentiated and UDL supports. The schools I went to lacked the kind of support I needed to make education as enjoyable a process as learning.

I want to become a teacher to help students love science. I know very few people who do not enjoy learning in some capacity (even if it is nonscholastic) but know so many people who do not enjoy school. I want to bring an engaging science curriculum to students and provide each student the support they need to enjoy and succeed at learning science. I want to help students fully see the beauty in the world around them by acquiring and understanding science skills and concepts.
